Peru 2002
My last expedition as a soldier. My friend and mountaineering buddy Jaish Mahan organised and led a trip for the soldiers at the Northallerton Ministry of Defence Hospital Unit (MDHU). I was working in the MOD at the time, and managed to take the time out to assist him.
A combined expedition trekking at high altitude through the cloud forests of Peru with white water rafting, followed by a visit to the fabled Inca city of Machu Picchu.
Trekking in Peru is stunning, and visiting Machu Picchu at dawn has got to be one of those things that everyone should do at least once in their life!
